The Importance of Good Website Copy

A professionally designed business website is a strong and crucial promotional tool. It’s the first thing potential customers will look at before they decide to contact you. If the copy on your website is not written to an acceptable standard, it may be losing you business. It is not sufficient merely to have amazing graphics and imagery, you need the words to make it complete. Is the spelling correct? Are punctuation marks accurate? Does the copy make sense? These are questions that website designers should be asking themselves before they upload a new website.

One of the biggest flaws with website copy is inconsistency. A lack of consistency could deter a significant amount of potential clients from hiring the services of a company that has not proofread their website.

Poor spelling on a website is another costly but avoidable mistake. most visitors will leave the site very quickly if they find too many spelling mistakes. This again will give them the impression that the site owners don’t really care. I am also certain that copy that has been ‘padded out’ with insignificant trivia is also unattractive for visitors. Lucid, concise and informative content is recommended.

Anything containing textual content must always be proofread. It’s very important that not only are errors in spelling, punctuation and grammar found and corrected, but that the text flows smoothly for the reader. The copy on a website should not be treated as the ‘poor relation’ of the website design project. You can have the most cutting-edge, eye-catching graphics available but you will still need well-written copy to compliment them.

There are some web design businesses around that will willingly inform visitors how they can supply them with a state-of-the-art website but then insert second-rate copy, which totally negates any good work they have achieved. This will reduce the initial impact of the site, and more often than not will have an adverse effect on business. However, there are also website design companies that employ skilled writers so shop around. It pays to have the copy checked professionally, whether the web design company has written it themselves or had it supplied by the client. It may cost a lot less than you realise to have a website proofread and it could cost you much more if you don’t!

Remember, if people visiting your website cannot find the information they are looking for because of poorly written copy then they will quickly leave your site. The only people to benefit will be your competitors.

Removing Unwanted Hair – A Guide To Hair Lasers

The methods and equipment used in laser hair removalLaser hair removal|Laser hair removal technology} has been totally revolutionised in the past few years. Previously, permanent hair removal was limited to commercial salons and spas. These services, although costing a lot of money, provided clients with effective and the longest possible lasting results using top end, high specification equipment.

Like most things in life, the price of this equipment has reduced substantially over the years, meaning that the same standard treatments, which were exclusive to salon only visits, have become achievable and of course affordable using the latest products suitable for home use. It is therefore now possible to get the same standard of hair removal equipment for use in the privacy of home.

This reduction in price and rise in standards is fantastic in particular for those individuals who enjoy the advantages of getting rid of hair permanently but perhaps feel self conscious about visiting salons to get the treatment done.

The other significant advantage is that, whilst the home versions of the laser and IPL hair removal products are expensive (top end models can £300/$450) comparing this cost to multiple salon visits means that having your very own laser hair removal system or IPL system creates significant savings.

It doesn’t have to be that expensive either. Cheap laser hair removal at home can start from around £100/$150. At the top end of the range, the IPL systems (Intense Pulsed Light) offers perhaps the pinnacle of hair removal technology – even better than some salons provide!

The Rio Salon model is a cheap option now on sale and is just one example of the wide range of products now available on the market.

Please seek medical advice before undergoing any treatment for laser hair removal.

The Advantages Of CSS Instead of HTML Tables

Times have changed on the internet and previously when you thought coding couldn’t be made any more simple for you to style your websites you were mistaken. CSS has taken the basic HTML coding to the next level and again when you thought your coding couldn’t look any neater, you were wrong. CSS doesn’t need the likes of HTML tables and what a great advantage CSS is and I’ll explain why.

In the old days of HTML coding, website designers would have to use the HTML tables tags which made the coding looking messy. Not only that, without the use of CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) coders would be coding for a lot longer which meant a lot of time was wasted. This all stopped when CSS was introduced and don’t get me wrong, a lot of cross browser problems still occur but it’s such a good transformation to the website design industry all this is worth it.

Cross browser problems do happen a lot more often with the use of CSS because some browsers render the CSS functions differently and cause the website to be shown differently between most common browsers such as IE7, IE8 and FF. There are agreat deal of myths and different information on the internet which discusses cross browser compatibility and how coders should only code for the latest browers which are the likes of IE8, FF, Google Chrome, Opera, Safari etc. None of this information is true and if you do only code for the latest browsers, a significant percentage of internet surfers still use Internet Explorer 6 so you’re not allowing for a large amount of internet users who can’t view the sites you code correctly.

There are lots of hacks and different CSS functions you can use to allow for the whole internet browsing industry and all you need to do is learn to code for one browser such as Firefox (as recommended by professionals, given that IE7 doesn’t compile the codes correctly) then once you’ve learned to code for one browser you can make the specific changes so your site is viewable in all website browsers and on all systems.

The IncreasinglyClever World of Contact Centre Solutions

Call Centers are now very common globally and many businesses outsource their operations internationally in an effort to cut costs. A significant issue with this process is Contact Centre Quality. It is no use outsourcing to save money if in the process you give your customers to such poor service that they defect to your competitors.

Terrible service in contact centres is often a management or agent training issue but there are also sophisticated phone technologies available now, like predictive dialers, that increase the maximum operational capacity of a contact centre and thus free up budgets to allow for top quality agent training.

Dialers use a mixture of s/w and h/w technology to forecast spare agent availability so as to allow the agents themselves are actively working at maximum capacity. After all, a contact centre agent occupying desk space but not actually talking to a customer is simply increasing overheads whilst not earning any money.

As with any complex environment with many parallel independent components, economies of scale are available, especially if the utilisation of individual elements – agents – are not inter dependent. Real time, dynamic analysis of agent call behaviors, agent availability together with work flows can often show up extra capacity in existing systems. In the Contact Center environment, predictive dialers can deliver generous cost savings without costing a fortune to implement.

Outbound dialers not only schedule calls & allocate them to available agents, they also do this in a way that successfully balances the maximum possible utilisation of agents with minimal levels of silent calls that operate within individual country’s legislations.

So now you know!

Hidden Object Game Review: Undiscovered World: The Incan Sun

What is life if it is not a big adventure? In Undiscovered World: The Incan Sun, our hero has crashed his plane on a not so remote area once inhabited by the Incans. The first thing our hero does is find objects scattered about his plane in true hidden object game style. It is not long before the hero finds there is more to the area than he expected. He is now thrown into a world were he must uncover the secrets of this ancient land.

True to hidden object style, the player is given a list of items to find. You discover the items simply by clicking on them. Once the item is found, the object is removed from the list. Some items are pretty easy to spot while others can blend in quite well.Objects aren’t always what you would expect to see either. For example: the list said phone. I was not thinking about this being set in an earlier era so I was looking for a typical phone. Finally, after finding everything else on the list, I found the phone. The phone was the type you would see on the Andy Griffith Show. You know the type I am talking about. You grab the earpiece and talk into a mouthpiece still attached to the wall. Then you ask an operator to call someone.

The last thing that made the game more difficult was the names. I don’t know about you but it is not often I see the word Anubis. Now, I have watched enough tomb raiding and Egyptian movies to know this will probably be a dog-like statue, but it was still unusual.

Each section has the list of objects to find but there is more. Along with the given list, you must find the two hidden statues. The statues allow you uncover the secret of the undiscovered world. While it is not required, there are coins for you to collect too. The coins give you hints on finding the objects that you just can’t find.At the end of a level, there is a mini-puzzle. The puzzle is not difficult at all. Matter of fact, the puzzle pieces are lined on the board. So putting the puzzle together doesn’t provide much of a challenge.

The game has a timer that counts up, not down, like most hidden object games. For maximum points, click accurately, click fast, and click multiple items in a row. This is the only way you will be considered an expert at a level. It will take practice because matching the names to the items is not as easy as it sounds. Clicking too many wrong items will not only destroy your accuracy but will also get you a time penalty.

Undiscoverd World: The Incan Sun can be found at MarcoPoloGames. There you can try games out before you buy them.
